More than fifty, including representatives of the Commission and the European Parliament, mobility experts, transport operators and authorities, universities, research centers and public bodies from different European countries, participated in the first workshop (Brussels, 30-31 January 2019) of the SMARTA project, coordinated byMemEx, and aimed at exploring sustainable mobility solutions for European rural areas. Plenary sessions, interventions on innovative experiences currently implemented in some European rural areas and break-out sessions have given rise to an interesting debate on perspectives, good practices and fundamental elements to guarantee the success of initiatives for rural mobility.
